Purpose

The team at Patronscan created world-class software that ran on off-the-shelf hardware. Unfortunately, that hardware didn't convey the impressive work that had gone into their code and they wanted a modern hardware platform to match their innovative software.

Our Role

Working in close collaboration with Patronscan, our role in this project was to conduct experiments to optimize the optical components of the system, generate industrial design concepts and perform all mechanical, electrical and manufacturing design for this product. We also leveraged our extensive overseas manufacturing network to supply both prototype and production parts.

Prominent branding was incorporated to proudly advertise the Patronscan identity.

Electronics Design and Integration

Imaging and compute electronics were tightly integrated with the custom mechanical components to ensure optimal image capture and serviceability in a compact package.

Perfectly aligned and sealed camera cones ensure clear focus on both sides of the ID being scanned. UV LEDs reveal security features to verify authenticity.
